Rock Bottom: 3-Item Assessment

Hitting rock bottom can feel like a relief in some ways. In others, it's the most painful thing you've ever experienced. But no matter how you feel when you reach that point, one thing is for sure: things can only go up from there. Here's how to tell if you've hit rock bottom in your addiction and what you can do to start bouncing back.

1. You've lost everything that was important to you.

If you've hit rock bottom, it's likely that you've lost things that were once important to you. This could be your job, your home, your family, or your friends. When addiction takes over, it can cause you to lose focus on what's really important in life. If you've found yourself in this situation, it's time to seek help.

2. You're struggling physically and mentally.

Addiction takes a toll on your body and your mind. If you're struggling physically or mentally, it's a sign that you need help. Some physical signs of addiction include weight loss or gain, fatigue, and changes in appearance. Mental signs include mood swings, paranoia, and depression. If you're experiencing any of these things, it's time to get help.

3. You're in danger of harming yourself or others.

When addiction takes over, it can make you do things that you would never normally do. If you find yourself in a situation where you're in danger of harming yourself or someone else, it's a sign that you need help immediately. Seek professional help if you find yourself in this situation.

If you find yourself hitting any of these three points, it's time to seek help for your addiction. Remember, things can only get better from here. You are not alone in this journey and there are people who want to help you get better. Reach out to blair@bpbcounseling.com for help today so that you can start on the path to recovery tomorrow.
